The pressure to 'love your body' can feel like just another impossible standard. Here's a more honest approach.
Somewhere along the way, body positivity became another thing women were supposed to be good at. Another performance. Another box to check."Love your body!" the internet shouts. And if you don't? Well, then you're doing it wrong.
Let's try something different. Let's try honesty.
Body positivity was born from a radical movement — fat acceptance, disability rights, and the fight against systemic discrimination. It was never meant to be an Instagram aesthetic or a marketing tagline.
When body positivity becomes a mandate — "you MUST love your body" — it creates a new kind of pressure. A new way to fail. A new thing to feel guilty about.
Body neutrality offers a different path. Instead of demanding that you love your body, it suggests something simpler: your body exists, and that's enough.
Body neutrality means:
At SOVA, we don't sell shapewear as a tool for transformation. We sell it as a tool for comfort and support. There's no "before and after" on our site because your body isn't a renovation project.
We believe you can wear shapewear and still practice body neutrality. You can want support without wanting to be someone else. You can choose compression for comfort without choosing to hide.
We will never:
What we will do is make honest, well-designed garments that support your body exactly as it is right now. Not as it was. Not as it "should be." As it is.
That's clarity. That's SOVA.
